HSE Consultant (Managerial) KHS Machinery (Project: Nigerian Bottling Company/Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, Ikeja, Lagos)

  • Supervised the installation and commissioning of New Can Line without recording any injuries. Improved safety culture, incident report and reduced site incidences by 80%.
  • Grossly reduced work place occupational hazards to lowest minimum by conductingsafety inspections and walkthrough at project locations, identifies hazards, establish corrective actions and ensures its implementation.Reports all the accidents and near-misses and implemented positive actions to prevent a recurrence.
  • Ensures full implementation of, and adherence to the procedure set out in the RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement Plan, Group HSE Manual, and any other project-specific requirement.
  • Achieved zero work at height accident by developing and ensuring implementation of safe work at height procedures.Supervises the proper installation of scaffolds and ensured conformance to internationally-accepted standards.

HSE Supervisor (Managerial) Sterling and Wilson Nigeria Limited (Project: Rural Electrification Agency)

  • Worked for 13 months as QHSE Lead before gaining promotion to the position of QHSE Supervisor. Responsible for the activities of two sites which included supervison of the activities of 5 HSE Officers. Reported directly to the HSE Head in India.
  • Established the implementation of site safety Policy, HSE Plan, procedures, HSE programs on all in southwest part of Nigeria.
  • Developes and reviewed various checklists including PPE Inspection checklist and crane checklist and other heavy duty equipment. thus increasing compliance rate from 20% to 90%.
  • Assists with the development of metrics, conduction of audit processes and post project reviews that assessed the effectiveness of construction/contractor safety programs and verified compliance with industry standards and government requirements.
  • Coordinates worker training in areas such as safety regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment (safety glasses with side shields, hard hats, insulating gloves, etc.), leading to 60% decrease in safety incidents.
  • Ensuring successful executing of internal audits, accident and incident investigations, reporting and maintaining a record of safety statistics of the Project.Conducts safety inspection of work areas, work methods, workers, machine & materials and other tools. Planned inspections were increased from 50% to 80% successful completion.
  • Develops statistical formulas to calculate PPE compliance and Suitability. Esnsured proper records of site workers were kept by introducing an Induction register.
  • Pioneer the “Safety first, Safety Always initiative” to ensure that all workers were safety conscious at all time.

  • 100% successful supervision of critical Operations including, lifting operation, Deep excavation, confines space entry, High risk electrical installation, termination and commissioning, heavy equipment positioning, critical height operations, Argon and arc welding, among others.
